Hey, I'm Alex.
Since building my first pair of MTB wheels over 20 years ago, I've worked as a mechanic at independent bike shops in the UK and across Australia. From the tropics of North Queensland to inner city Sydney, and as part of Trek Bikes national network. I've managed workshops, trained mechanics, diagnosed complex eBike systems, and built wheels across every discipline.
Now I'm doing what I love most. New South Wheels is my dedicated workshop in Wollongong, focused entirely on precision handbuilt wheels and expert repairs.

We provide complimentary wheel truing for the life of the rim and spoke replacement for two years. When repairing existing wheels, we use the highest quality components, expert knowledge, precision tools and labour. We stand by our work every time, no shortcuts.
